Pawkey Privacy Policy
Effective and last updated: October 2, 2026
The short version
- Pawkey has no account and no sign-up.
- Pawkey does not send your personal data to us or to anyone else. It has no analytics, no ads and no third-party trackers.
- Your steps, history and settings stay on your iPhone.
- Pawkey can't see which apps you use. Apple's Screen Time keeps that private.
- Apple handles all purchases. We never see your payment details.
1. Who we are
Pawkey is made by Arkand Labs Private Limited ("Arkand Labs", "we", "us"), a company incorporated in India (CIN U58202TS2026PTC215144) with its registered office at FNO 304, A Block, Sai Srinivasam, Jillelguda, Meerpet, Saroornagar, Hyderabad 500097, Telangana, India. This policy explains how the Pawkey iPhone app, its widget, Live Activities and Screen Time extensions handle information.
2. Information Pawkey uses on your iPhone
Pawkey needs some information to work. All of it is stored and processed only on your iPhone, inside Pawkey's private storage, which other apps can't read. We do not operate any servers for Pawkey, and the app makes no network requests to us.
| Information | Why Pawkey uses it | Where it stays |
|---|---|---|
| Step counts from Motion & Fitness | To earn minutes as you walk | On your iPhone |
| Step counts from Apple Health, including Apple Watch steps (optional) | To count steps you took without your iPhone | On your iPhone |
| The apps and categories you choose to protect | To lock and unlock them through Apple's Screen Time | On your iPhone, as anonymous tokens |
| Your Pawkey history: daily steps, minutes earned and spent, walk start and end times, streaks, trail progress, skipped scrolls and emergency unlocks used | To run the app and show your progress | On your iPhone |
| Your settings: daily limit, difficulty, your dog's name, sound and reaction preferences | To remember your choices | On your iPhone |
| Whether Pawkey Pro is active | To unlock Pro features | On your iPhone, confirmed by Apple |
Pawkey asks for each permission when it's needed. You can say no to Apple Health and notifications and still use the app. Pawkey needs Screen Time and Motion & Fitness to do its main job.
3. Information we receive
Pawkey does not send us your steps, history, settings, app choices or any other personal data. We receive information only in these cases:
- From Apple. Apple gives developers sales and download reports that do not identify you. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may also share crash reports and usage statistics that do not identify you. Apple's own privacy policy covers this.
- When you email us. If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply to you and keep it only as long as needed for that and for our legal obligations.
4. When information leaves the app
Some features show or create information outside Pawkey. You control each of them:
- Widget and Live Activities show your minutes and walk or session progress on your Home Screen and Lock Screen. Anyone who can see your screen can see them. You can remove the widget or turn off Live Activities in Settings.
- Notifications are scheduled on your iPhone. They are not sent through our servers.
- The weekly share card is an image created on your iPhone. It leaves your phone only if you share it, and only to the app or person you choose.
- "Export my data" creates a backup file of your Pawkey history and settings. You choose where to save or send it. Pawkey does not encrypt this file, so keep it somewhere safe.
- Device backups. Your iPhone may include Pawkey's data in its iCloud or computer backup. Apple's terms cover those backups.
5. Apple Health
If you turn on Apple Health steps, Pawkey reads your step count only. It never writes anything to Apple Health and does not read any other health data. Information from Apple Health:
- is used only to count steps and earn minutes in Pawkey;
- is never used for advertising, marketing or data mining;
- is never sold or shared with anyone, and is never uploaded by Pawkey to any server, including iCloud.
You can turn off access at any time in the Health app under your profile, then Apps, then Pawkey.
6. Screen Time
Pawkey uses Apple's Screen Time features (Family Controls, Managed Settings and Device Activity) to lock the apps you choose. When you pick apps, Apple gives Pawkey anonymous tokens rather than app names. Pawkey cannot see which apps you picked, what you do in them, or how long you use them, and it does not collect your browsing or usage history. Apple's Screen Time shows the lock screen for protected apps. You can turn off Pawkey's Screen Time access in the iPhone Settings app under Screen Time.
7. Purchases
Pawkey Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple processes your payment and manages your subscription. We never receive your name, email address or payment details. Pawkey only checks with Apple, on your iPhone, whether Pro is active.
8. What we don't do
- We don't require an account or ask for your name, email or phone number in the app.
- We don't show ads or use advertising identifiers.
- We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- We don't use analytics, crash-reporting or marketing tools inside Pawkey.
- We don't sell, rent or share your personal data.
9. Keeping and deleting your data
Your Pawkey data stays on your iPhone until you delete it. Deleting the Pawkey app deletes all of its data from your iPhone, though copies may remain in device backups you made earlier. You can turn off any permission in the iPhone Settings app at any time. Emails you send us are kept only as long as needed to help you and to meet legal obligations.
10. Children
Pawkey is not directed at children under 13. It does not collect personal data from anyone, including children. Pawkey helps the person using the iPhone manage their own screen time. It is not a parental-control app.
11. Your rights
Depending on where you live, laws such as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, and US state privacy laws give you rights over your personal data. These can include the right to access, correct or delete it, to withdraw consent, to nominate someone to act for you, and to complain to a regulator such as the Data Protection Board of India or your local data protection authority.
Because Pawkey keeps your data on your iPhone, you can view, export and delete it yourself in the app. For anything we hold, such as emails you sent us, contact us using the details below and we'll respond within 30 days. We do not sell personal data and do not share it for targeted advertising.
12. Security
Pawkey's data is protected by iOS app sandboxing and, when your iPhone is locked with a passcode, by iOS data protection. Since your data never reaches our systems, it can't be exposed by a breach on our side. We recommend using a passcode on your iPhone.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change how Pawkey handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, for example if a future feature needs to send data off your iPhone, we'll tell you in the app and ask for your consent before it takes effect.
