Terms of Service

The short version

• These terms apply to arkandlabs.com and to our apps that link to them, including Pawkey.
• Apps from the App Store are also covered by Apple's standard license agreement.
• Pawkey Pro subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel in your Apple Account settings.
• Walk safely. Pawkey is not a medical device and can't guarantee every app stays locked.
• Indian law applies, but you keep any consumer rights your local law gives you.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Arkand Labs Private Limited ("Arkand Labs", "we", "us"), a company incorporated in India (CIN U58202TS2026PTC215144) with its registered office at FNO 304, A Block, Sai Srinivasam, Jillelguda, Meerpet, Saroornagar, Hyderabad 500097, Telangana, India.

They apply to our website, arkandlabs.com, and to our apps that link to these Terms, including Pawkey (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use them. EADly has its own terms at eadly.app/terms.

Our Privacy Policy and the Pawkey Privacy Policy explain how we handle information.

2. Our apps and the App Store

When you download one of our apps from Apple's App Store, it is licensed to you under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA"). These Terms add to the Standard EULA. If the two conflict about your license to use the app, the Standard EULA wins. You must follow the App Store's rules and Apple's terms when you download and use our apps.

3. Using Pawkey safely

Your health and safety

• Walking is physical activity. Talk to a doctor before starting if you have any health concerns, and stop if you feel pain, dizziness or discomfort.
• Stay aware of your surroundings. Don't look at your phone while crossing roads, and never walk somewhere unsafe just to earn minutes.
• Pawkey is not a medical device or a fitness tracker, and it doesn't give medical advice.

How app locking works

• Pawkey locks apps using Apple's Screen Time features. It works only within the limits Apple sets, and iOS updates can change how it behaves.
• Pawkey can't guarantee that every app, website or feature stays locked, or that locks start and end at exactly the right second.
• Don't protect apps you may urgently need, for example for health, safety, work, travel or banking. You can turn off protection or use an emergency unlock at any time.
• Pawkey helps you manage your own screen time. It is not a parental-control product.

Step counts

Pawkey counts steps using your iPhone's motion sensors and, if you allow it, Apple Health. These counts can be inaccurate or delayed, and we aren't responsible for steps that aren't recorded.

4. Pawkey Pro purchases

Pawkey is free to download. Pawkey Pro is an optional paid upgrade, offered as an auto-renewing monthly or annual subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase.

• Price and payment. The price for your country is shown in the App Store before you buy. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase.
• Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, unless you turn off auto-renew at least 24 hours before the period ends. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.
• Free trials. If a free trial is offered, it becomes a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
• Managing and cancelling. Manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings: open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep Pro until the end of the period you've paid for.
• Refunds. Apple handles payments and refunds under its own policies. Request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
• Lifetime purchase. A lifetime purchase unlocks Pro for as long as we offer and support Pawkey, on devices signed in to the same Apple Account.
• Restoring. Use "Restore purchases" in Pawkey to restore Pro on a new or reset device.
• Price changes. We may change subscription prices. Apple will tell you in advance, and asks for your consent where the law or its rules require it.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Services in a way that breaks the law or infringes anyone's rights;
• copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease any part of the Services, or reverse engineer them, except where the law allows it;
• interfere with or disrupt the Services, or try to get around their security or purchase checks;
• use the Services to harm, harass or deceive anyone.

6. Intellectual property

The Services, including the apps, this website, the Pawkey name, the Scout character, illustrations, sounds, logos and text, belong to Arkand Labs or its licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Apart from the license to use our apps, these Terms don't give you any rights in them. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.

7. Third-party services

Our apps work with services provided by others, such as Apple's App Store, Screen Time, Apple Health and StoreKit. Those services are governed by their providers' own terms and privacy policies, and we aren't responsible for them.

8. Disclaimers

To the extent the law allows, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that using them will reduce your screen time or improve your health. Some countries don't allow these exclusions, so some of them may not apply to you.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Arkand Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue or goodwill, arising from or related to the Services. Our total liability for all claims related to the Services is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Services in the 12 months before the claim, or ₹5,000.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or takes away rights you have as a consumer under the laws of your country.

10. Changes and ending

• We may update the Services, add or remove features, or stop offering an app. Where reasonably possible, we'll give notice before removing a paid feature.
• We may update these Terms. We'll post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you on this website or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using the Services after that, you accept the updated Terms.
• You can stop using the Services at any time by deleting our apps. Remember to cancel any subscription in your Apple Account settings.
• We may suspend or end your access to the Services if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. If you have a concern, please email us first. Most problems can be solved quickly that way, and we'll try to resolve it within 30 days. If we can't, the courts in Hyderabad, Telangana have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you also keep any right your local law gives you to bring a claim where you live and to rely on its mandatory consumer protections.

12. General

• These Terms, together with the Standard EULA and our privacy policies, are the whole agreement between you and us about the Services.
• If any part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
• If we don't enforce a right right away, we haven't given it up.
• We may transfer our rights and duties under these Terms to a company that takes over our business or the relevant app. You may not transfer yours without our consent.
• If we translate these Terms, the English version prevails.
